Cuerpo, mente y emociones en equilibrio

I am María José, a therapist in Ayurvedic massage, specialising in stress, depression, burnout, grief, and oncology support.
I also teach Shantala massage for babies, a traditional Ayurvedic practice from India, in workshops for mothers and fathers.
My story: For many years, I lived at the frantic pace of the advertising world. Pressure, stress, and anxiety became part of my daily life.
An unexpected change took me out of my comfort zone, and in seeking my centre, I discovered a passion: massage. After training in multiple disciplines, I found my path in Ayurveda, understanding that I should focus on the nervous system.
I know it well, precisely because of my experience living at the limit in a frantic lifestyle of constant stress. It was not just a career change; it was a life change, a shift in mindset, and a new rhythm.
My work is to accompany people who, like me, need to slow down the pace of life we lead, reduce stress and anxiety, both physical and mental, to achieve a sense of calm, deep relaxation, and renewed well-being.
Trained in chiropractic massage (Dr Sagrera Ferrandiz School), Ayurvedic massage (in Spain and India), Vietnamese Multi-Reflexology Dien Chan, Chanbeauté facial therapy, oncology massage (American Oncology Massage Society), neurosedative techniques, and infant massage educator.

Ayurveda is the traditional medicine of India that seeks the harmony of the person, and ABHYANGA MASSAGE is one of its most important tools. My approach is specialised in the nervous system and aims precisely at this goal: balancing body, mind, and emotions, reducing physical and mental stress, and relieving accumulated fatigue.
Abhyanga massage consists of applying warm sesame oil all over the body. It begins with the CHAMPI HEAD MASSAGE, traditionally performed while seated in a chair, with a little oil applied to the head. This is highly recommended for the nervous system, insomnia, tiredness, mental exhaustion, and headaches. The massage then continues on the table with Abhyanga applied to the whole body.
It has many benefits. On a physical level, it helps to detoxify the body, produces immediate effects on the muscles by relieving discomfort and muscular pain caused by overload and physical stress, activates blood circulation, and strengthens the immune system. On a mental and emotional level, it helps to overcome states of stress, anxiety, and fatigue, and improves sleep quality by relaxing the nervous system and calming the mind.
The session begins with a brief consultation to get to know you, so the 90-minute massage can be personalised and focused on your maximum physical and mental well-being.
Ayurvedic massage can be received as a single session, but it is recommended to integrate it as part of the principles of Ayurveda, which are prevention and the maintenance of long-term well-being.
SHANTALA MASSAGE, a traditional Ayurvedic practice from India, is based on the ancient technique of massaging babies with sesame oil, using gentle, slow, and unhurried pressure. It was introduced in the 1950s by the French obstetrician Frédéric Leboyer, who, during a trip to Calcutta, saw a mother massaging her baby and considered it “a gift of giving love.” That mother was called Shantala, which is where the massage gets its name and is now internationally recognised as baby massage.
Massaging babies has many benefits: it promotes relaxation, improves sleep quality, helps with infant colic and constipation, aids in understanding their body limits, supports respiratory, muscular, digestive, immune, and nervous system development, helps to understand their non-verbal language and needs, and above all strengthens the emotional bond and physical, mental, and emotional development. It nourishes through touch and helps the baby feel loved. “Because the skin is the first language”: Frédéric Leboyer.
ONCOLOGY MASSAGE is much more than a simple massage; it is specifically focused on those going through this stage in any of its phases and aims to promote well-being.
It consists of gentle, adapted movements with light pressure, always staying within the comfort threshold, and may include techniques from Ayurvedic Abhyanga and Champi massage.
I offer you a space to relieve anxiety, reduce stress, improve sleep quality, and, above all, it will be your moment of calm and deep relaxation, where you can release emotional tension and feel better.
Many studies have shown that oncology massage is compatible with medical treatments and helps reduce the side effects experienced from therapies and the symptoms of the illness itself.
Benefits: strengthens the immune system, improves mood and pain perception, helps combat insomnia and promotes restorative rest; reduces stress, fatigue, anxiety, nausea, and depression.
Important: it is a complementary therapy and not a substitute for any conventional medical treatment.
